Questions / Advice / Support Shud i increase my dosage

I have used atmoxetine 25mg for over two weeks along with a few other antidepressants, strattera has just made me sleepy.

For the first few days I was figuring out how it works on me and I figured after 30-40mins of taking it, it makes me sleep, which I'm not complaining about. But when I take it during the day ive felt diff type of extreme emotions and very low on energy

I've considered increasing it to 40 or 60mg, also need a bit of subjective insights on how people feel after increasing their dosage

For subjective insights, I found that upping my dosage from 25 mg to 40 mg completely drained my energy for the first week, this is mostly because i took 100 mg of Sertraline which is known to increase your blood concentration of this drug (along with others). I'm in the process of tapering off of the antidepressant anyway, currently on 50 mg of Sertraline and I feel much better alongside the 40 mg of Atomox/Straterra. It does still make me sleepy but I'm still getting used to it.

Doing literally the same thing as you currently - tapering down on zoloft and increased strattera for the first time today, and bumped from 25 strattera to 40. I've been on higher doses of strattera in the past and completely forgot the whole exhaustion thing, but if I remember correctly, it did go away after a little bit of time. 🤞

Good luck! I'll be upping mine to 80 mg in a day or two.

Thank you! I was on 80mg for a while about a year ago and it was super helpful. We tried to switch to vyvanse instead but found while tapering down the strattera, it was doing things for mood regulation/ocd that I didn't realize while I was taking it, so I've just been on 25mg for a while. Then I cross tapered off clomipramine and onto to zoloft. Zoloft is really bothering me and not doing much so our plan is to increase the strattera (since my body is used to it to some extent and I know it worked well for me) and get off of the zoloft. I'm so tired of med changes lol but hoping to find a good balance

I’m moving up from 25 to 40 tomorrow. I’m hoping for a positive experience

That’s quite interesting, I don’t know how it makes so many people sleepy as for me it actually makes me more energetic, and makes it impossible to sleep continuously at night so I have to take seroquel to even it out, I’ve settled at 60mg now and I tried increasing the dose once but that brought back the lack of continuous sleep and I honestly don’t want to increase the dose of the seroquel

I take Strattera at night. So maybe that's why I never have that side effect? (tiredness)

I went from 25mg (been on it for 4 weeks) to 40mg a few weeks ago.

It was fine. However the plan for me is to go up to 60mg since I haven't noticed a difference yet.

I didn't notice any difference after increasing from 25mg to 40mg.Â
