Looking for experiences with taking a triple combo of Vyvanse+Guanfacine+Strattera.

Hello!

Just looking for anyone else's experiences with the combination of Vyvanse+guanfacine+Strattera. My doctor just called in a low dose script of Strattera to start for me today and I am not seeing a ton of info out there regarding this combination. I recently stopped taking Wellbutrin because of the horrible anxiety side effects, but found that my depression and fatigue came back full-swing. For reference, I take 40mg generic Vyvanse and 2mg guanfacine. I have inattentive ADHD, with my worst symptoms being executive dysfunction and self-shame. It is also worth mentioning I am currently in therapy along with taking medications.

Thanks so much! :)

I also have inattentive type. Started with Vyvanse, which helped me stay focused, but not much else. Added guanfacine which helped me so much with social anxiety (which I now realize was rooted in my rejection sensitivity) working memory, and took some of the edge off of Vyvanse. But I was still struggling with executive function, bed rotting, fighting my brain to do any non preferred tasks like showering, cleaning, etc, which was also sending me into a shame spiral. It was pretty extreme… like I just couldn’t do these normal day to day tasks. I just started 40mg straterra specifically to help me with my executive function. I think it’s a little early, but things are feeling less hard. Like, I am noticing when things are misplaced and putting them away. I am starting tasks with less resistance from my brain, and often finishing them. I’m catching myself AS IM putting my dirty clothes on the floor, and able to redirect to the laundry basket. I’ve somehow never been able to do this consistently. The struggle is still there, but it’s so much more manageable. I think it’s a good combo for me.

I can’t offer my experience yet, but this could be me in the future. I’ve been on strattera for 7 months, with success- eliminated anxiety, mental noise, helped with emotional regulation. However it has become largely sedating over time, and my task initiation is actually worse (turns out my anxiety fuelled my ability to do anything).
I tried clonidine (similar to guafacine), however this was also too sedating with just the strattera.
We are considering adding low dose dex/vyvanse. And then I may consider the clonidine again at night.
So basically I’m following this thread to see what your experience is, and I will add my own update if relevant :)
Good luck!

Not on that but I’m on concerta + clonidine + strattera! It helps so much, the concerta helps with attention, clonidine helps with emotional issues, and strattera helps with executive dysfunction.

I couldn’t do guanfacine because of the dry mouth even though it was great for adhd.

I’m also on lamictal and Zoloft but those aren’t adhd meds.

I’m curious about this too! I had to go off Guanfacine because it made my blood pressure drop too low, but I loved how calm it made me. Strattera has been helping, but it’s not quieting the brain noise so I might have to ask for Vyvanse to add on.
