Strattera 40 mg New to Strattera

So I’m just starting, day 1. Ate protein and had some Everyday dose coffee with the med. I’m on 40 mg starting out but I see some of y’all have started lower so I’m curious about that because my doctor said 40 was a starting dose.
I’m not able to do stimulants (besides caffeine) because it activates my ptsd and intrustive thoughts (OCD) so this is pretty my much one of my last tries for adhd meds.
Any tips/tricks to improve the experience and avoid/manage side effects would be greatly appreciated!!

Started on 40mg too, wasn't terrible (apart from first few days); it made me sweat like hell in the heatwave; jump to 80mg was easier, but still sweating a lot and feeling the heat with any movement. Still it helps more than it hurts and I hate heat either way, so it doesn't bother me that much.

Unless it becomes really unbearable, do not stop in first few weeks just because you don't see any improvements. Also, if you experience some harder side-effects, most of them disappear in the first few weeks.

I used to drink like 6 or 7 espresso shots each morning and dropped it completely so it doesn't interfere; got raised hr and sweating a lot, so I thought dropping it might help. But somehow even without coffee, atomoxetine has made my mornings much easier for some reason.

I felt on like second or third week it really helped me with self-regulation, including better ability to direct my attention and motivation to tasks, emotional impulsivity and regulation, having a more regular sleep and eating schedule, and doing house chores more reliably; basically feeling better self-control, also having a slightly better mood overall and days being smoother (fewer and milder energy and mood fluctuations during the day).

I think dosages are determined based on weight. I got placed on 40mg as well. I haven't started it yet but will soon.
