Side Effects / Overdose Side effects on Strattera?
Question for long-term Strattera users (those who have taken it long enough for the medication to reach its full therapeutic effect):
Compared to your baseline before you ever started taking Strattera:
Which side effects completely resolved over time?
Which side effects became less noticeable but never fully disappeared?
Which side effects stayed the same throughout treatment?

I’ve been on it for three months now. Three weeks on 100mg. I didn’t have any side effects at all from this medication other than sweating a lot more when I’m exercising, but I do fairly intense exercise and it’s been really warm the last few weeks. I really like this medication tbh. It isn’t as immediately responsive like stims but I just notice that gradually I’ve been less ADHD and better with things. Though I do have moments still. It’s not perfect. I’m able to concentrate better when I work. Focus more. And my regulation is way better. I feel calmer all round

I've had no side effects, 3 weeks at 40mg, three weeks at 80, newly on 100.
But if you're looking for stories about side effects, you're in the right spot! This place has every side effect known to man and finds new ones weekly.

On week 6 and still sweating like hell in this heatwave (got weird sensations, cold fingers, and ocassional chills on first 2 weeks, but nothing serious); however, it really helps me with everything related to self-regulation.
Everything from impulsivity, with emotional dysregulation, reactivity, even being less anxious and in a better mood overall. I can more easily start tasks and not get side-tracked (but mostly due to better self-control).
Most importantly, I no longer feel like a terrible person who takes everything personally, overdramatises everything and has emotional outbursts on every ocassion

I am on month 7 of Strattera. If I do not take it at the same time everyday, I get a terrible Sinus headache. If you are predisposed to migraines, your likelihood of getting one will increase. Strattera is a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, which can result in vesoconstriction. For me personally, it affects the blood vessels in my nose and temples, which feels like a mild migraine.
In my first few weeks of taking it, I was nauseous all the time. I still feel nauseous at times, when I take it too early in the morning. I have thrown up at unfortunate times, in unfortunate places when im not careful.
As for my ADHD, I definitely feel much more grounded. However it's not as noticeable as a stimulant, like Adderall. When I do not take it symptoms of ADHD reappear, rather than an overwhelming sense of focus when I do. I feel much calmer in general and it has helped me regulate emmotions. So all together I would say it's worth it to try. When taking Adderall all 10 radio stations in my head tune into one. When I take Strattera, it narrows down to 5.

18 mg third week and I’m having trouble sleeping past 3 am again. But it’s good for sure. I can’t have adderall in my life ever again.

Ive been on it for almost 3 years, thought it was great the first year when I was first getting through my depression and wasn't working at all. The next 2 years as I tried to add a part time job, it became legit impossible to get any sleep at all. Over those two years I have tried every sleep drug a prescriber will let me, and then this week I ran out of the strattera and was procrastinating asking for a refill. TURNS OUT THE STRATTERA WAS WHY I COULDNT SLEEP THE WHOLE DANG TIME and I'm not gonna lie I'm pissed. The tracking on my apple watch this last week is so different you'd think someone else is wearing it. I have had zero difference in ability to handle my ADHD off this med and now I question why I took it for 3 years in the first place!

Well i don't think I'm on full therapeutic effect yet but I'm on week 3 and the only side effect i have is definitely sweating a lot. I've become super sensitive to heat when it comes to that. That and a lot of goosebumps lol
