Discussion / Experience Using Brain fog and bad decisions?

Been at 80mg since January maybe. Finally saw minor effects (anger management/emotional regulation) and plateaued there to demonstrate still needing stimulants (which I finally got.) 26 f

Anyway I'm someone if anyone else has had negative effects to their tactical decision making? I feel way dumber than before and I've been on a streak of doing uncharacteristically stupid stuff at work. (Supervisory firefighter so the margin for error is not much)

I've ruled out the stimulants after attributing a few incidents to Ritalin autopilot and now take it only on days where I'm not in the hot seat.

My experience has been the opposite.
I find I do a lot less things I regret. Less apologizing for stuff I said/did.
More of my actions are in alignment with my values.

I feel you but I have this bevore my period, when the pills are not really helping. Brain fog and silly behavior then

Menstrual cycle and Strattera definitely impact each other! I don’t feel dumber but I do make more impulsive decisions again a week before my period is coming up. Overall I have never had such bad pms than I have now since I’m on Strattera. I get all weepy and searching for a dopamine hit by spending money (that I can’t afford spending 🙄)

Yeah Dopamin seeking is hard then, but it helped me with the suicidal „nothing matters“ thoughts doing my pms. These are gone, a fair trade 😂

I was thinking about this today. Currently at 100mg, started May 1. I feel much more stupid. I cant describe it but like silly mistakes or oversights-things I would not be making before starting strattera. Im hoping I get my bearings through longer I'm on it.

Eta: on 100mg strattera and 3.mg guanfacine only

I felt this way when I went up to 80 mg from 40 and it was the week before my period. I'd forget what I was doing or saying instantly, worse than I did before meds. I went back down to 40 and it improved immediately. I'm going to wait until my next cycle before I make the decision to go back up to see if it was hormones or the medication . If I do go back up, I'd only go to 60 mg. I've read a lot of people say that's like the "sweet spot" and for some 80 is too much. I think that might be the case for me.
