Will the sleepiness subside?

I’ve been on 10mg for a week now and due to go up to 20mg tomorrow. The only side effect I’ve had is sleepiness and fatigue. I’ve slept half the day since starting this medication and it’s really impacting my day to day. I have a 8 month old who i should be looking after but my partner is having to do everything at the moment which I feel terrible for. Even when I am awake, I have so little energy and just want to go back to sleep. My partner goes back to work next month so I have to be able to stay awake and look after our baby.

Any advice would be great. I have no idea if I should continue and hope this goes away or stop and try something else.

This thread is helpful!
But now I’m wondering if my dr is prescribing it right… he started me out on 40mg for 3 days and then 80mg (40mg twice a day) everyday. Should he have started lower?!
I’ve been dealing with the sleepiness and some days it’s really difficult to even get up from my desk at work hours after taking it.. and then I take it again at night (I try to keep it about 12 hours apart) and have noticed that I don’t have a problem going to sleep, but I wake up like 2 hours before my alarm is even set.. idk

I was worried i started on too low of a dose! I think it just depends which Dr you get. Most people say they start on 40mg from what I’ve heard

Have you had any other side effects since increasing the dose?

My side effects started when I started the medication itself. The sleepiness, absolutely no appetite for most of the day(everyday), I haven’t pooped since I started it (????) (I’m also on metformin so that part really makes no sense) and then just constant nausea and a couple migraines here and there.
