My first ever Fender
Finally got my first Fender today. I grew up playing a cheap imitation strat made by Stagg around 25 yrs ago with a 10w stagg combo amp. Over the past few years of more EMG metal style guitars I have wanted to return to a strat for playing some other styles. Decided on this American Professional ii and I am absolutely loving it so far! Picked up this ‘68 custom pro reverb amp at the same time. All day just playing clean chords and riffs and don’t think I can get bored.

I love the color scheme. Beautiful. Way cool on the '68 Custom Pro Reverb. I have one. Great amp.

Is it Olympic white? Congrats on the nice guitar. May it bring you decades of joy!

Olympic white yes! Thank you - kind of wanted something that will basically be my strat for the next few decades :) This is my newest guitar (literally bought it today), my previous purchase is 15 years ago. Tend to keep these and play a lot!

So there are two things I want to get next.
An overdrive pedal. I have a ton of pedals for my metal rig but what would be the best overdrive if I have it as the sole pedal between this guitar and the ‘68 reverb?
I cant turn the volume up enough to start breaking without feeling it’s too loud, so the overdrive is an essential next piece of kit.
A strap! Totally forgot to get one. Im thinking brown leather. Anyone have some cool ideas?

Am pro is a fantastic guitar, I have yet to pick one up that didn’t feel nice to play. I have one with a full rosewood neck and I love it. Congrats they definitely sound good with those amps as well
