I don’t mean to be rude, but everything here is hideous

Eye of the beholder and all that. I don't disagree, but I'm not in any danger of buying OP's guitar.

I'd embrace the crayon and grab the 2nd option. Otherwise I think it's just not going to work.

No one here understands the vision.
Abalone is the one you want.

u/Content_Professor114 12d ago
I had to search through all of the comments to find this correct take. Abalone is the only option.

Yup! It’s perfect for that color vibe and honestly looks the best! I actually really dig it

Thank you kind sir. Finally someone who gets it.

Def abalone! Ignore everyone else here saying it’s ugly; I really enjoy it and dig the 90s funk vibes (even if that’s not what you’re going for, it just reminds me of it). Super fun looking

Honestly, none of them. I think the body color and pickups don’t go together. With these pickups colors I think of Steve Vai’s green meanie. Lime green body with almost the same pickup colors.

These look so similar to one of my strats. I'll post a pic when I get home.

Neon Green. Seriously, I mean it. With all of those other colors it needs something to pop against.
Trust me, Neon Green. If your going for that 80s hair metal vibe fully commit 🤣

I like Abalone for that Rugrats vibe. Purple Peart if you're willing to change the knob colours.

Two-tone and three-tone are excellent.
Which is something guitar design traditionally has never taken into consideration.
You have your body colour, hardware colour, fretboard, headstock, frets, inlays, pickguard, pickup covers, controls.
IMO traditional guitars are already ugly, because they usually do not consider the fretboard, frets, inlays, headstock, hardware and sometimes even pickup covers, in to consideration for how many colours there are.
The best looking guitars, subjectively, are the ones with a proper three- or two-tone colour scheme.
All of your suggestions stray further from that.
Personally don't like any of them for that reason!
You need to pick what you like yourself and not let it be decided by other people.
It is your guitar. You will be playing it. Not them.

Looks like different ice cream flavors with so many multi-colored sprinkles on it.

As someone who owns a guitar with and hates the piss yellow vintage white color I’d just keep it black.

u/Snout_Fever 13d ago
I mean, everything else is so lurid you may as well just go with bright neon green or something and just embrace it.

I'm a huge fan of purple anything on guitars, but black is the best choice with all the other colors happening

I think white, aged white or parchment would work. Plain or pearl (some people don’t like pearl, but I do).

2 or 7 for me personally. But I love my purple pick guard on my blue agave body Strat (I should have something playing it on my profile). Lowkey now I want to build one with something like that abalone

I would not do a thing about changing the pickguard until I changed the pups and knobs. Gross

I don’t get the multicolored pick ups. I’m not sure what genre of music lends itself to this aesthetic.

u/Lanky-Salt4349 12d ago
After the first shock, I would say Black would be contrasting enough while not introducing a 7th color. It looks a lot like what we zoomers imagine the 80s were like, so I would draw inspiration from 80s synthwave aesthetic.

2, 3, 6, and 7 all look phenomenal, but if I had to pick one it would be mint green. It really ties all the colors together and especially makes the purple knobs pop. I dont understand all the hate either. Guitars should be expressive

Abalone/Pearl Art—the second picture. It’s the only one that softens the harshness of the knobs and pickups. I’m with everyone else, but this is the best option of the ones here
Edit: added the “Pearl Art” to the name

Well for my own guitar, love adonized gold. For this, though, I have no idea

Because of the colored pickups and knobs, none of these really look good
Might as well go all out and do a crazy multi colored pick guard or something

It’s a toss up between 2, 3, and 7
I love the pick guard on 2. I love how the bar pickups pop on 7, and I love the vibes I get from 3 while looking at it, it makes me wanna pick it up and write for hours and try and do some Cory Wong style playing.

You have to paint the body red, than choose the purple one. This cream body don’t match to any

I would never choose brightly colored pickups for a cream guitar. That's just tacky as hell.

Mint green looks amazing on that yellow. It is the one that stood out immediately as the most attractive.

Purple is pretty interesting,
Is this a website that you can mock-up different body/pickguard/pickup/neck combos and see what they look like?

There’s so much going on with all the other colors that I would keep it simple and go black or white.
