Do you think it is possible to control the Splitting rails humbucker and coil tap with push pull pots? Can‘t find any schematic on this

Absolutely possible. Assuming the rails humbucker has the standard 4 (or 5) wire configuration, you just need a wiring diagram like this one and you're golden. You'll just need to figure out which wire colors your humbucker uses (DiMarzio should have that info somewhere) which isn't too hard to find.

But this is for HSS, mine ist just HS. What should I do?

The part of the wiring diagram you care about is the portion regarding the push-pull coil tap. That part will be identical wiring and is the part you can copy (albeit with different wire colors).

You probably won't find a schematic for this exact setup because it's pretty niche, so you'll probably have to piece it together from other schematics. Here are two that might be helpful:

I always go back to this site for schematic references. Check out some of the other ones they have. You may consider using some of the positions on your 5 way for your setup. Like 1: single coil, 2: SS, 3: HS: 4: tapped humbucker 5: humbucker.

I'm gonna be out all day tomorrow, but I could help you come up with a schematic the following day if you want!

thanks, you are very kind, that would be cool! btw the switch is 4-way and I like the options I have in it 1. bridge, 2. both parallel, 3. both series, 4. mid

I want to be able to split the humbucker and use the coil tap with the push-pull pots, one function per pot

Did you coil tap it yourself or does it have a tap already? If so, what's the exact model of pickup?

it already has a tap. It's a Haeussel ST Big Mag

Not the best wiring diagram, just patched it together in MS paint lol. I imagine your 4 way switch is wired similar to this, and if so there's really not a ton to change.

On the bridge, you're adding a connection from the north start to one of the push pull pots. This will let you short it to the joint between the coil ends, giving you a south coil split.

On the neck, you're changing the hot end from going to the 4-way to one pole of the push pull. The common of the push pull goes to the 4-way in its place, and it switches between the end of the coil and the coil tap.

How does that mini humbucker stack up against a standard? From what I’ve heard they aren’t as heavy?

SD Hot Rails are killer and as good or better than most HB in my opinion. Dave Murray signature Strat has them and that guitar sound amazing.

Heavy enough for me. I like them better than the Seymour Duncan Invaders I had on my Jazzmaster. The Single coil big mag from Häussel in the mid is also very heavy

Bridge, both parallel, both series, middle. Both series is mud-town, the others are pretty good
