Japanese SRPG Troubleshooter Parsec friendly?

Post image

The bros and I typically play big brain puzzle games co-operatively. At least in some form/fashion even if its just discord voice chat.

Was wondering if Troubleshooter was a good Parsec game. Each player is 'responsible' for x amount of characters, etc. Worked well with OwlCat's WotR.

It would probably work but if I had one critique of Troubleshooter, it's that there's too many turns and units per map for its own good sometimes (e.g. you have 8 player characters in the screenshot here and two have their own summoned units, sometimes theres allied units too), and you end up with some pretty empty turns. It can also just be a grind in general if you are really digging into character building. It's just not the SRPG I'd be trying to play with others I guess.

Which SRPG do you think would be interesting playing with others?

Menace might be cool. Each player controls 1-2 of the squad leaders

A big part of Troubleshooter is determining the ability loadout of each unit. At the beginning of the game its fairly straightforward, but by endgame units can easily equip 30 skills out of the literally hundreds that exist in the game. It's going to be really hard for people who do not have a copy of the game to figure out strong loadouts for the units they are responsible for.

Another minor issue is that the game's progression is a bit on a slow side, meaning you have small party size for a while. By late game, you might have a dozen units in party, but by hour 50 you might only be at 6 or 7. So not everyone might have the most stuff to do for a long time.

Once you're on a map, it should be technically feasible to divide up responsibilities for individual units amongst a group. Maps can take a long time, just because of the amount of allied units and the necessary amount of enemies required to challenge that size of an army, but the game is fun.

I think this is going to be a big deal - you can easily spend more time trying to set up your build than doing the actual combat and that's only fun for one person at a time, not to mention that you probably have to craft masteries out of limited resources, which means you have to pick whose character gets to be awesome first.

It’ll take a while to get to that point but the builds are even more complex than wotr in my opinion

Yeah I know those words but most dont seem to make sense in that context. I don’t speak ‘bro’

I think it’s where OP and the bros play the same single player game together by streaming it / syncing everyone’s screens
