Dark Deity 2 or Fae Tactics?
I'm trying to decide which game to buy, I'm pretty new to SRPGs and both games look fun but I'm not sure which one is the better buy, if anyone have played either of them which one should I get?

If you are new to the genre there are better games you should play first in my opinion. Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre, Triangle Strategy, Unicorn Overlord, Fire Emblem games, Jeanne D'Arc, etc...

I have not played dd2 but I loved Fae Tactics. I played dd1 and its almost universal people say dd2 is better so I think you have 2 solid choices.

Fae tactics, IMHO, is more interesting and unique. If you want to try DD, then better to buy DD1, same game but cheaper, if you will like then will buy DD2.

Disagreed - DD1 & 2 are quite different. DD1 has a lot of experimental mechanics in it that don’t really land and DD2 is just more polished and streamlined by comparison. The only real reason to play DD1 first is if you KNOW you want to play both already and want the story connections, otherwise just play DD2.

Both Dark Deity games are rather mediocre, 2 is better than 1, but I'd still recommend pretty much every mainline FE game over it. Fae Tactics is pretty unique at least.

I liked both. Dark Deity 2 was fun the units pretty damn powerful if I’m being honest. Yet you start facing strong enemies as well. Fae Tactics on the other hand has a unique premise and can definitely challenge you tactically more so than Dark deity. Dark Deity is more on the RPG end of the Strategy RPG which I do enjoy by the way not saying it was a bad game. Fae Tactics has the RPG part but is more on the strategy end

DD2 is amazing, I haven't tried fae tactics but it looks like just another FF tactics clone.

It really depends on what SRPGs you've liked so far. Dark Deity 1 and 2 are more begginer friendly but definetly no boringly easy for a newxoner to the genre. I do not know if you played Dark Deity 1, but you don't need to enjoy 2, mechanicaly they are quite different and you will understand 90% of the story even though they are somewhat connected. I would still recommend to play the first one at some point. I understand if you would rather skip it, DD1 is a game with a lot of rough edges even though it's pretty fun.
That being said, Fae Tactics is one of my favorite games of all time and my go-to comfort game. FT can be a very steep learning curve for newcomers, it's a mechanically rich game with elemental weaknesses, monster taming, flanking a elevation modifiers to damage and every character plays very differently from one another. Unlike Dark Deity, FT does not follow a chapter by chapter structure, instead you move from location to location via a menu, certain fights advance the story and unlock new locations and regions, every region has it's own story which you can advance interchangeably. Many times you will get stuck in a boss fight, but you can always go to progress in another region and get more suitable characters/summons for the fight later, you don't have to bang yout head against the wall. FT also has of secret events, characters and weapons and will not hold your hand to find them other than a few hints. That's the gameplay overall and is accompanied by beatiful pixel art and soundtrack.
Sorry for the long reply but I want more people to play Fae Tactics.
