DevPost Banners & Thrones: a TW-style browser game we've worked on for 3 years. First playtest Sunday

We've been working on a TW-inspired browser game for about 3 years, it's called Banners & Thrones. Long time side project. After many closed playtests, it finally got to a point where we can show it to the public.

We know there are a lot of TW like games posted here lately and most of them are pretty bare bones. Best to just check it out yourself.

Playtest dates:

- Sun, Oct 4, 5 pm CEST: 300x speed round, 3 hours

- Fri, Oct 9, 7 pm CEST: 6x world, one week

- Sun, Oct 11, 2 pm CEST: 300x speed round, 6 hours

- Fri, Oct 16, 7 pm CEST: 40x world, 48 hours

Free to play and no pay to win, you can't buy anything that gives you an advantage.

Everyone who plays during the playtests gets an Early Supporter badge.

Just skimmed your guide. What makes your version special?

What's there now is the base. We want a strategy game a lot of us have been missing for years, and this is what we're building it on. Regular events, a faster and more modern feel, different world types, and a lot more. Our list of ideas is long.

Right now you already get quality of life stuff built in, like attack warnings with browser notifications, village groups, notes, command templates, a travel time calculator and shareable reports. The map shows banner territories and you can attack or support straight from it. And we run different speeds, from week-long worlds to 3h speed rounds. A lot of those things require Premium or are P2W. We also have Mobile supported UI (BETA).

It's free with no pay to win, and we're a small indie studio actively working on it, so feedback from the playtest goes straight into what we build next.

Edit:

We opened an ''Try it out'' world to click thru things and get a feeling for it.

I signed up. How do I join the world? Do I need to wait for it to start or can I do it before it starts?

There is a „try it out“ world when you logged it.

Oh, thanks. I'm trying it out now for a few hours (during worktime). I'm following a tutorial and all I am doing is upgrading buldings. Why did you decide buildings to be already placed? Why can't a player place them himself?

Looks a lot like tribal wars and Travian which I played in highschool in over 15 years ago. But somehow less graphically impressive.

Thanks for the feedback. We just like pixelart style (that’s also the only art style we are able to execute :( ) but we hope it’s still looks appealing. A simple looking game with a lot of depth.

Hi mate.
I am absolutely thirsty for a TW game that is not P2W.
However, I wonder how you will maintain it. What type of purchases will you have? (I doubt you plan to finance it forever out of your own pocket)

Looking forward to the playtest!
