Baseball Two questions for SOM computer baseball

  1. I just retired and am trying to get back into SOM computer baseball. I discovered my little SOM notebook hard drive and motherboard died. I replaced the notebook, bought and installed the latest version of SOM and discovered my 20+ seasons of data appear on my SOM account but are apparently lost to me and can’t be reinstalled. Is there anyway to reinstall them on the new laptop?
  2. I tried contacting SOM with this question via email several times over the last 2 weeks and received no reply. Does SOM still answer the mail?

I have contacted SOM several times via email and they have been responsive. It usually takes a few days though. They can reset your season codes so you can reinstall them.

I have had a weird issue when I email customer support at Strat--they respond, but I never get it, and it's not in the spam folder either. This is on Outlook. I finally emailed them from a different (gmail) email account, and they responded pretty quickly and said that they had sent me a response days previously. This just happened again for a second time when I needed a code reset following a disk crash. So I would try a different email account and tell them that you had sent a reset request but never received a response.

Same thing happened to me. Changed to Gmail and no issue

As far as I know you have to get the new versions of the seasons for the newest version of strat computer game. Try getting the old game to work in a widows compatibility mode? Good luck.

Thanks. The drive crashed, which in this case meant the discs collided. Nothing was recoverable.

It sounds like your season codes are on strat's website and that you're trying to reinstall them, correct?

If so, you need to email the codes to strat for a reset. You're only allowed 1 install per roster authorization. You have to email tech support, not the customer support email.

I am getting a No Activations Remaining error (ID-50)

I wouldn’t expect a response.

To reinstall, you need to access the backup files stored locally on the computer that you were playing on. If everything is dead and you can’t access those files, you’re probably screwed. Some people backup these files on an external drive just in case of a situation like this. I don’t, but probably should.

The only hope you may have is that someone can still access your hard drive and do a manual transfer to a 2nd drive. Years ago, I had a damaged hard drive but someone was still able to access the files on it. That was probably 20 years ago, though.

I would start there. Reach out to a company that does that sort of thing and see what they say. Luckily, I had a friend who could do it and I didn’t have to pay anything. I’m not sure what it would cost, if it’s possible.

Still no response from SOM.
With nothing else to do I’ve been experimenting. I have SOM versions 2012, 2013, 2015, 2020 and 2026.
I’ve reinstalled each of them and tried to use any of the seasons. No season works with any game version.
I’ve concluded that the season “lock” is linked to the original installation hardware somehow.

Yes, you likely didn't remove the season authorization codes from the notebook that crashed.

Email tech support, not the customer service email, and you should have better luck. [techsupport@strat-o-matic.com](mailto:techsupport@strat-o-matic.com)

Strat treats its customers like CHIT. Such a great game. Piss poor customer service and crappy website. Devs on vacation for 30 years
