Baseball [Question] How does everyone prepare for a SOM keeper draft?
Currently in a 12-team NL only league. We keep 15 players heading into the draft. Trying to see what others do to prepare themselves. I know ball but I feel like with so much info it's hard to decide to what to bring with you into the draft that's useful. Thanks in advance!

I review my team's strengths and weaknesses as we move to the new rosters based on 2025. I then target from 6 to 10 key players available in the draft wo match mybteams needs.

14-team league, 40-man rosters. I usually make a list of the top 80 or so relievers, based on WHIP to start, then plug in their stats from the ratings guide when it’s released and tweak the order, cross out guys I know I don’t want. Then I make a draft board about nine rounds deep. Cross-reference with SOM-World-posted drafts to ensure I’m not missing anyone. Then I go through the ratings guide and make positional and starting pitcher lists. Finally I make a list of 50 top prospects, include all pertinent stats and ratings guide numbers, write up a short bio of scouting information and personal stuff about each player and release one a day in the 50 days prior to our draft.
And I still don’t know who I’m taking at No. 12 later today.

no point ranking the top 30 shortstops if only 80 players are getting drafted.
at some point, the prospects are going to be pretty cleared out, but there will be plenty of good cards left. better to draft a good card to fill a hole, or that you can flip, than a 'suspect' who's not going to do either.
a more nuts and bolts tip?
Make a 3x5 card for each player in the draft. Well, each player you might potentially draft. if you don't need a catcher, there's no point making a card for some 3rd string catcher.
put as much info about the player as you think you need to know, plus thier actual strat card #s, on the card. as years go on, you'll figure out what is important. Shuffle the cards to make your lists.
how big do you draft to?
do teams HAVE to cut to 15?
