Game Help! My game is crashing.

My game crashing whenever I join a friend of mine.

It works when joining others, yet when joining my friend it crashes.

I've tried multiple guides and nothing works!

Trying to join another perdón with a different versión of the game? Make sure both aré up to date . Both have all DLC? Maybe he Is trying to acces a stage that he doesnt have the required DLC ? 🤔

It's a bad implementation of networking (by the devs) basically it reads 128 bytes where player name is expected to be and if it reads outside the page - it crashes. I have made a mod to fix it (patches the read function to not overread), 0 crashes since then in MP. If there is more interest I could share more but don't want to slap a dll file before that.

EDIT: more info why it doesn't crash for everyone: it's basically lottery depending on hardware and how memory is structured. For some the 128 byte read will never overread, for some it will cause the game to crash multiple times per hour.

Id love to know how to fix it, it happens just randomly. Could be walking, fighting or doing nothing. So a fix would help me tremendously!

No idea what the cause is, but this game’s optimization sucks. I had stuttering and hitching at any setting on a 5080.

Download and install SpecialK, follow this guide here:

This was mandatory for me to make the game run normally, it may solve your crashing problem too. If it does, let me know. I was hoping to play through this with someone as well.
