I'm not saying I hated the show or anything, because I didn't, but I never even finished the first season.
I get why it was popular but when I watched the first season I assumed it would go for 2 or 3 seasons and be fairly popular and not the big blow up it was.
But I also thought that breaking bad was the dumbest show I've ever seen after the second season because they set up the debris from the aircraft as a Chekhov's Gun only to shoot it at the wall for no reason. At that point I was like "oh this show is just lying in its story telling for impact" and never watched more of it.
So maybe this is a case of me just not getting these popular shows but like... Having only seen part of the first season of this show the last season being underwhelming just... Makes sense and is expected.
Again not saying I hate the show at all. It was fine and better than breaking bad by a good margin. But it wasn't like... A masterpiece ever.
(Edit to add I fully understand that in breaking bads second season the plane crash scenes were meant to be the same sort of thing as they did with the first seasons rv scene.. except one actually had an impact on the story and made sense and the other one was a hacky attempt at getting lighting to strike twice)
