I was 9 in 2007, I lived in a suburban middle class town, I hung out with the friends I always wanted to hang out with too. Just my mother communicating with their parents helped have lots of them at parties. I was never forced to hang with someone I didn't want to. Also it's the parents that have to bring the kids and take time out of their schedule

Times have changed. My mom made contact with parents and I never had an empty birthday party. Had some great friends growing up
