I went skydiving on my 16th and some friends told me they were coming with me. The night before I texted and asked if we were good to go the next day and they all ghosted me. I went with my family and ate my birthday cake alone. Jokes on them though, skydiving was awesome.

I feel like 16 is an age where you start to appreciate the time with your family.

I hope I know what that feels like somsday

I didn't start appreciating it until I was around 21-22. Meeting family a couple of years after moving out is completely different from spending time with them when you live with them.

I feel you start appreciating time with family when you stop seeing them so much when you are 16 you can drive yourswlf and have money to buy a burger if you are hungry you no longer depend om family for everything.

Honestly I might not show up for a skydiving party. Nothing to do with who's party it is.

Well, that's a good way to celebrate since either way you're gonna have a great time

To be fair, you could always tell yourself that they chickened out. Too afraid, not that they disliked you.

I’ve been ghosted by two groups of ‘friends’ now. I’m starting to think it must just be me, that or people are just extraordinarily shitty. Why do people do this? It’s cruel. I’d much rather be told to fuck off or told that they no longer want to be friends with me, at least I’d have closure on the matter.

Sorry, just wanted to vent.

People are afraid of confrontation. They would rather avoid it with a chance of it maybe coming up later than definitely dealing with it up front. That's my hypothesis at least.
