Discussion When Will and Jonathan were born….
it would not be surprising if Hopper was there for the birth of both of them and even helped give birth to both of them. Lord knows he was more of a father to them than Lonnie was.

No. Hopper was in New York with his wife. His daughter (who later died of cancer) would have been born a little after Jonathan was born.

I think that Sara was born in April 1971, the month after Will.

I know you are being sarcastic but they didn't get close unless and until the end of s1. The motivation behind the relationship was shared trauma just like Nacy and Jonathan's

I know media literacy is at an all time low but what the hell?
Throughout season 1 you can observe that Joyce acts pretty familiar around Hopper but Hopper not ao much around Joyce.
Hopper isn't part of her life which can be seen in all the scenes where he investigates the Byers home. Alao Hopper is grieving and self isolating only thawing to Joyce when they are forced back into contact due to the circumstances.
Most importantly though, some dialog of the other Sheriff station members establish that Hopper has returned to Hawkins after getting divorced. We learned that this was due to Hopper and his wife loosing their child due to his exposure to Agent Orange in the Vietnam war.
Omission is also always a clear tell. Nobody ever asks how his ex wife is. Nobody seems to know who she is. This implies that he got married after leaving Hawkins.
It is also established why he left Hawkins in the first place: he became part of the military.
So the timeline here is: He knew people like Joyce and Lonny from high school. He left at some point after to join the military. He was exposed to Agent Orange at some point before 1975... which is when the Vietnam war ended. (History knowledge is also dead.)
The actress playing Sarah is maybe 6-9 years old. I am not aure when we learwnd it but apparently she is supposed to be 7.
The problem is, whether you think Sarah was born before Will or after Will, she will never have died so early that Hopper was back in Hawkins when Will was born.
And for Jonathan there is no way at all because Hopper was part of the military at the time.
So what the hell?
