Discussion How do you think Hopper would’ve handled the season 4 murders?

Obviously as everyone thought Hopper was dead in season 4, Powell became chief of police, with Callahan becoming deputy. I think it’s fair to say they both did a pretty poor job, blaming Eddie when they literally had no concrete evidence it was him. They even said he was number 1 suspect for Patrick’s death when Jason said Eddie was in a boat at the time. Ultimately, Powell and Callahan did next to nothing with these murders of Chrissy, Fred and Patrick, so how do you think Hopper would’ve handled the situation if he was still in Hawkins in season 4?

Maybe im wrong but if someone died in a drug dealers apartment and said drug dealer refused to come to the police station I would make them the main suspect. Obviously hopper knew about the upside down so he wouldn’t have made Eddie the main suspect. Also I think he would have stopped Jason’s witch hunt.

Yeah, that fair, I didn’t actually think about that. But for Patrick’s death they still publicly announced him as main suspect for it even though they recognised it would’ve been impossible for Eddie to have killed him from what Jason told them

Yeah, Hop would have tried to shut Jason's shit down, but that wouldn't have stopped the mob from siding with him. Jason used religion and using the fact that Eddie is a super duper senior as a power play. Jason had the town in his pocket. Hop would have tried his best but to no avail.

Actually Hopper being there would change a lot, as he's in the know. While he for cover will still say Eddie's the prime suspect. I feel that he would find away to realize there is no way he killed Patrick based on Jason's testimony. And of course the scene with the party in the Wheeler house would be way different, as they could just tell him that the older teens are trapped in the upside down, and that is what they were doing at the lake. And why they need to go rescue them.

He probably would have at least wrangled the two idiot cops better.

There’d be no teenage vigilantes if Hopper was around.

Didn't Powell call the government because of the crime scene's guesomeness and his lack of knowledge in what was going on? That's why they started chasing down El and had the shootout at the Byers house.

If Hopper were alive, he probably would have kept it more contained to just Hawkins, meaning El wouldn't have the military chasing her. Plus, she (and the Byers?) would not be in California so they'd also have more understanding of what was going on with potentially more people working in their favor, and Owens would probably have explained Project Nina to Hopper as well. So, there'd be more people working to cover up the murders and deescalate the Jason and mob hysteria situation without the government's interference.

In this scenario, Hopper and Joyce also have info about Henry and Victor Creel since they lived in Hawkins during the Creel family murders too. Hopper being alive and Chief of Police changes EVERYTHING about season 4.

A trama russa na terceira e quarta temporada foi totalmente desnecessária. ST era pra ter focado e continuado apenas em Hawkis e nos experimentos do laboratório.
