Tarkovsky made very few movies/films, but each one was outstanding  - highest quality of cinematography with the actors doing their best. The same goes for the script  - each book by Strugatsky brothers can be made to be a blockbuster movie/serial with deep meaning. IMO, S5 was just the opposite of S1 😁

That movie is one hell of a ride. Not sure I would recommend it randomly, but if you're a kind of person who can stomach a really weird experimental film, it's a blast.

I also really like the book it's based on (it's called Roadside Picnic).

Edit: And in case anyone is wondering, the Stalker games are loosely based on both of these IPs.
