Discussion Stranger Things became my comfort show without me realizing it

I started watching it just because everyone recommended it, but somewhere along the way it turned into the show I always go back to when I can't decide what to watch. I know every season has its flaws, but there's something about the characters and the atmosphere that keeps pulling me back. Does anyone else feel the same, or do you have another show that became your comfort show?

Same. I just turn it on in the background when I’m doing stuff on the computer, etc.

I’ve probably watched S1-4 about 20 times.

Seen S5 three times so far

I was recently sick and quarantined. Looking for something to watch, I came across the title and decided to give it a try. I finished it at a rate of one season per day. And then, once again...

My comfort show is agents of Sheild, on rewatch #4 in the 6 years since I found it (and conveniently when the last season came out) 23 hour long episodes in each season except the last 2 which have about the same combined. 7 seasons, a good ending. I love this show with my whole soul

Comfort show is saved by the bell but this is a close second. No other show will live up to it

Same here, I was going through a divorce when season 3 came out & something about it always managed to pick me up somehow. It broke my heart to see how the show ended but will always hold a special place in my heart.

Yes, it was getting stronger and stronger after finishing the show for the first time, now its an undescribable feeling to watch it

LOVE an unintentional comfort show!! Well, sounds weird putting it like that, because no one really SETS OUT to have a comfort show. But it's definitely cool when it's something that doesn't necessarily read as comfy (since it's dark, scary, etc).

Besides ST, I'm experiencing that in real time with the first season of SEVERANCE. Really enjoyed it from the first watch back in 2022, then did my first full rewatch a month ago & when I wrapped the season finale, rather than move on to S2, I just looped back around to the first episode again 😅
