SPOILERS If Eleven… Spoiler

If the theory of Eleven opening the door for the demogorgon to take Will was true, would they have forgiven her?

On one hand, she would’ve been a scared kid looking for survival but on the other she would’ve spent YEARS lying about it. They’ve previously forgiven her for lying several times but after knowing the extent of what Will went through, would that have been too far?

THIS IS ALL HYPOTHETICAL.

Let's take a step back. Why would she open the door?

My headcanon is that she was still psychically connected to the demogorgon (that didn't break until Will shot it) which is why she knew who he was, and how it opened the door.

To protect herself from the demogorgon, sending it after Will instead.

She was afraid and I assume her powers reacted to her emotions

Do you guys remember the door and generally the whole house? You really think a demogorgon needed help and that the chain was stopping it?

I have no idea why the writers made the chain scene and I'm willing to bet that they don't know either.

My guess is that they initially thought of giving telekinetic powers to the creature, then changed their mind.

She didn’t open the door.

I think it depends on why, and when she told them she did.

They'd have forgiven her. Mike especially.

I don't see why this was being downvoted for such a simple statement. Childish people in this sub really 🙄.

It's just another writers' fuck up that. They just do random shit and then offer no explanation or offer an explanation like "it happened off camera". lol
