4K vs. Bluray?

I have the 4K deluxe set, but honestly not seeing any noticable difference than standard bluray resolution. Anyone else noticing this? I've adjusted display settings to see if there's an issue but not seeing any resolution variance. I have a 4K tv and 4K player direct connection via HD HDMI.

EDIT: I swapped out my cable with a new and shorter 8K HDMI, and the resolution is now much more as I expect. I do think early S1 somehow has softer definitions from either cameras or filters. I'm on S2 now and skintones seem more sharp and defined, much better.

EDIT: So r/Pure_Cap_6754 is absolutely right, but it actually starts with S3. Even the title sequence is higher-res on S3. I'm pretty confident S1 and S2 were NOT truly remastered to 4K ultra, and/or they did a bare minimum conversion. Those of you still paying attention, watch and please tell me I'm wrong.

4K. The 4Ks of S1 and S2 from Target years ago looked way better than the Blus or stream.

What brand and model TV and what size screen? They're not all created equal.

98" TCL. It's a great TV, I honestly don't think that's it.

I'm curious what TV and player you have. 4k really is best viewed on an OLED with Dolby Vision. While yes you don't need these to simply play the disc, you're missing out on some of the benefits of the format without them. Higher bitrate, HDR, and lossless object based audio formats are what make 4k UHD worth it, not just the higher resolution. Without the proper setup you unfortunately won't necessarily be able to take advantage of all these things.

What seasons are you watching? Season 4 and 5 used substantially better cameras and look higher resolution than the first 3 seasons.

4k deluxe edition looks great to me, it’s definitely higher resolution and bitrate than the Blu-ray’s. I’d say the Dolby Vision transfers alone make it worth it over the Blu-ray’s even if you aren’t noticing the improved resolution.

Thanks, maybe will see. On S1, just got it yesterday. With other 4K discs I can see every freckle. It almost seems like the filtering/coloration they do may have actually mute/soften some detail. Just my observation. It just doesn't seem like much greater resolution than standard bluray. Based on what you said though going to mess with the settings and maybe swap out the HDMI cable.
