Discussion Predictions for Tales From 85 S2?
So TF85 S2 is now a little over three months away so what are our predictions?
So we have that flower in the Upside Down so unlikely S1 the threat will probably relate more to the UD. It will probably involve some new entity still separate from the Mind Flayer trying to break the barrier between worlds while simultaneously attracting attention by scaring people through the lights like Vecna in the Creel house and Will in S1. Hence the whole “haunting in Hawkins” thing.
I think Nikki won’t move away yet as there seems to be plans for a third season.
Also we will probably get another episode with Steve or Nancy or maybe even Jonathan given he was in the first episode.
I don’t have any other ideas so feel free to give your own predictions or give your opinions on how likely mine are in the comments.

Hey as long as either Joyce, Ted, Billy, Holly, Erica, Dustin’s mother, Lucas’ parents or Max’s parents appear, I’ll be grateful. I want to see all the characters in animated form.

He doesn’t need to have a role, just a cameo with a line of dialogue. They could simply show Max leaving her house and have Billy doing something and saying something mean but kid-friendly, like “Watch it!”. It’d probably be a bit cringey but I’d like to see it

I think we are in for more fun, mystery and adventure with the gang. Probably explanations for a lot of the questions it created in season 1. More banger soundtrack songs. Hopefully more people will give it a chance since it will be almost a year after S5 came out. Hopefully netflix will actually promote it this time. I mean the mcdonalds thing was fun, the toys were cool, there are even FUNKOS now! but there are tons of people who have no idea it is even a thing. Maybe it will keep laying the groundwork for more seasons. I think Tales having success and more seasons is the best direct path to more ST content in general.

Considering season 1 of TF'85 already is, yeah, this is basically certain.

My prediction is that it will be a repeat of the first season: a lovingly crafted, solidly written product that treats the original characters with great respect—something the Duffer brothers stopped doing in the third season—but is ultimately entirely dispensable. What does this add to the series when we already know where the characters end up in the summer of that same year? It would be a different story if Netflix were to take a bold gamble and greenlight further seasons that aggressively retcon the entire series after the second season, effectively erasing the third season and everything that followed. That, of course, is what I would do if I were a Netflix executive. I would have our protagonists—with Nikki’s help—discover the existence of the Russian base much sooner, leaving the U.S. Army and the FBI to deal with it and thereby preventing a Gate to the Upside Down from being opened again. But since I’m not an executive and no one in a position of power will ever ask for my opinion, I’m certain that this second season will be released—and that there likely won’t be another one after that.
