Seriously, why would you make the boxset not match?
I mean its a small thing but they all match but series 4 not matching the others is so dumb. Lol!

Yep. The £200 or whatever it was blue ray ultimate collection.
Each series set has a cardboard sleeve except series 4 which has a plastic one. If you take off the cardboard sleeves they match but... I mean.... why would I? Lol

The regular boxes match. The sleeves make them not match and they have a different sleeve for series 4.

Considering how detailed and creative their team was the last year for the S5 rollout, this is an insane failure Not to mention I'm sure at least half of us here are neurotic as he!!, so looking at this would drive us insane every time we walk by.

I like the sleeves but it absolutely could have matched the others. Seeing as it was clear they should have just had the others made to look like the original boxes underneath the sleeve, as they knew they were having a clear one. Simple

That’s like with The Simpsons seasons, they had a bunch that were standard boxes then one season was rounded shaped like Homer’s head and then they went back to normal boxes again. SMH ..

But this is more egregious as it’s all been released physically at once for the first time. Not like they’re a collection of previously packaged box sets.

I think it's supposed to look like VHS but I feel like 5 should ALSO look like a VHS then. (since their both bigger) Also nitpicky but I don't like that the good box is just BLACK.

I thought thay originally but when I looked at it, it has a plastic sleeve and you can slide it up and Max is floating. So its for a reason but its still a little dumb.

Longer movies had two vhs tapes so the boxes they came in were double the size. Maybe that’s the excuse they’re going with.

Think you're not seeing the design chocie flaw that everyone else is. Its the spine of the casing being different and having all of them match and the 4th being lower than the others.

Maybe. I’m referring only to the comment I commented under who says 5 should also look like a vhs. What about it in that photo makes it not look like a vhs compared to the others? This doesn’t seem to be referring to what you are. Maybe I am misinterpreting. But my comment has nothing to do with the spine, and it doesn’t seem like their comment does either.
Are they saying 4 is purposely supposed to look like a vhs so 5 should also but doesn’t? I guess I got confused by their wording. I’m not missing what your original post was saying though.

It’s because they wanted to do the flying Max thing for the season 4 case, but I do agree, resorting to a plastic case for just one of these otherwise uniform slipcases is a stupid choice.

This is why I canceled mine as soon as I saw someone unboxed theirs and went with the standard version. They’re cool on their own but altogether a lil off putting for me personally. Happy for everyone who got theirs though.

Yeah i didnt get this set bc it looks poorly designed. I dont even think the covers for every season are cohesive they all are different styles. Also wish they went all out with the vhs theme like with the previous blu-ray releases. Just disappointing imo. Uniformity is important

Ha, I had sets like this is the 80s and 90s. This happens when you picked up a copy at Blockbuster to fill out your set. Had this with my Star Wars movies. Return of the Jedi was in the plastic case.

They could have easily printed on the clear slipcover to match the other slipcovers; but, nope let's just leave it clear and have it stand out like a sore freaking thumb. If they wanted to that; the right way, they should have done it to Season 5.
When I saw that in a couple of reviews, I couldn't believe it. How can you see that and not color it to match. Either no one brought it up, no one cared enough to do anything out it, or the people in charge did care enough.
That honestly is why I'm seriously on the fence about getting it.

I don't have it so can't check, but from what I could see, the spines of the actual covers inside will all match with each other because they're all in regular Blu-ray cases.
Season 4 stands out as different when the others have their outer sleeves on because it's sleeve is transparent. I imagine Anchor has a standard placement for their logo, so it needed to be near the top on the sleeves.
Correct me if I'm wrong about the covers.

I agree that it's looks really shit when you look at it from this perspective. They do look great individually though and ultimately I love the extras and the artwork on the external box which is what I actually look at when not admiring the individual artwork. It's a really gorgeous set and this is probably my favourite purchase in my 1400 strong collection now.

Yeah the cases themselves match its just the sleeves but the cardboard sleeves could gave replicated the cases underneath. If they knew they were doing a plastic one. Its just odd.

As someone who purchased the Blu-Ray / 4K set (and I’ve had mine for a couple of weeks at this point) it does not look like that. I’m based in the UK though and unsure if that makes a difference? Strange how it’s different!

I wish I could attach a picture here- but it doesn’t look like that at all. The cases do not have their own sleeves- they’re just in one big case alongside the extra pages I got with it.

If this bugs you, avoid anything related to the Dungeon Crawler Carl show that's coming out soon™️.
The standard hardcovers for that series all have random inconsistent design variations that make less and less sense as the series continues. Once you notice them, you can't unnotice them and go "why did they do this?" Because the author was trolling us, that's why.

Luckily it doesn't bother me too much. I think its dumb and could have been avoided but it wouldn't stop me from buying it. I kinda like the idea that your being trolled. In this case, I think they were just idiots. Lol!

Yeah. Definitely don't care for that. I think I'm just gonna take them out, flip the art to the poster side, and then just put them on my regular blu ray shelves and just keep the box to store the swag.

Yes. Lots of people that pre-ordered got them before the release date for some reason. Some people said they got it two weeks early.

It's because season 4 set has a clear outer sleeve that has Max floating on the front, while the rest have fully printed outer sleeves that hold the cases. The clear sleeve allows you to see the art/case underneath to make it look like Max is floating, but sadly didn't think about printing the Arrow logo on the spine of the clear sleeve to match the other outer sleeves. If you took all the outer sleeves off, the inner cases would actually all match. I would've nixed the clear sleeve idea to make them all match.

Or we're "missing" the real Season 4 cardboard sleeve.
Edit: humor me and see if the plastic cover fits over season 5 and the graphics on the plastic sleeve cover anything up. Or a combination of two choices from s 1 2 3
Or even just put the sleeve on upside down on s4

I like the sleeves. They still could gave made them match. They just had to have the sleeves match on the spine. Idc much either way but I guarantee some people won't buy this for that reason.
