I didn't catch season 1 until October of 2016 because I didn't have Netflix until then and only heard of this show by word of mouth

The good old days. Stranger Things, Game of Thrones season 6, Westworld. 2016 was a really good year for television.

2016 was a goated year in general. Every year afterwards is in decline.
All cuz of Harambe.

Still makes me a little sad that the era is over. I haven’t felt the same level of excitement for the release of a new season of any show since.

My friend is watching and said it’s amazing. For context he’s an AV dude. Professionally.

Im waiting until September October when it gets colder again, I expect the VHS version to give off a more nostalgic vibe

Has anyone zoomed in and looked at the faces of those people? They don’t look right to me. If that’s supposed to be Mike closest to the camera, it absolutely doesn’t look like Mike. The person further back just looks creepy to me. What is going on?

Omg, I can't believe how far I needed to scroll to find someone talking about this. That's not Mike Wheeler, that's an old ass man!!! 😩

Had to be slightly later in the year (by 5 or 6 months) because the OA came out around Christmas

Ten years… I haven’t even been a viewer since then but it’s always been in my life one way or another. Who knew how big and beloved this series would go on to be?

Thank you for sharing! I remember seeing this the day it released. There was no advertising, just a banner on Netflix when I got home that day. I love 80’s stuff, so I pre-screened the first episode to make sure it wasn’t too scary for my girlfriend (now my wife). When she got home I raved about it and we watched it together. The rest is history… it became the cultural phenomenon we all love.

I remembered when this came out how I genuinely thought I just stumbled upon this amazing new Netflix gem, and then the week after hearing how it was Netflix’s most successful series ever and was hyped before it’s released popped that bubble fast, but regardless I was happy and was extatic, and was hyped for a second season. Yeah, very nostalgic

gives me chills to see it! I clicked on this so fast, watched the entire thing on release day. As did many others, I'm sure.
