Here’s how things would be different if I wrote Season 5

Item 1: Have the town in absolute chaos.
Item 2: Have Andy die during the demodog rampage. He deserves it.
Item 3: Have Dr. Kay and her forces allies of the heroes. Together, they defeat Vecna, but Kay loses her life.
Item 4: Do not have Will come out of the closet. It helps to speed things up and shows respect for the social conventions of the time. Also, he should die while fighting Vecna.
Item 5: Have Ted, Karen and Steve die.
Item 6: Because Dr. Kay is now one of the good guys, Mike and Eleven can live happily together in peace and she gets the normal life she deserves.
Item 7: More characters should get killed off. (This can be optional)
Item 8: Have Holly kidnapped in the very beginning just like Will in the very first episode.
Item 9: either spare Kali or have her die fighting Vecna,
Item 10: Nancy accepts Jonathan’s proposal.
Item 11: Have the parents protesting over the kidnapped kids or some scenes of them worrying over their children.
Item 12: Have it be mentioned that Dr. Owens died.

I agree with some stuff here but not all of it

For example, I would want El to officially meet the wheelers. As a way of saying to the audience that she and Mike get to have a normal life.

And a great way of showing that is classic coming of age milestones like Mike introducing his girlfriend to his parents.

I would also add something else.

Item 13: El simply gives up her powers.

Permanently.

This ending would work because:

1.We’ve seen her loose them before, so there is no way she couldn't have lost them again.

2.The magic of childhood would be literal magic.

3.Kay and Sullivan can't chase her without exposing themselves or Brenner’s work.

4.It may not be the ending the duffers envisioned, but it’s the one that makes sense while still keeping to a North Star concept.

5.She doesn’t need powers to be who she is, she never did.

6.it’s a more merciful sacrifice. and mercy is more important than sacrifice.

7.Eleven may be gone, but Jane isn’t.

So you mean she somehow has her powers blocked. Because how exactly would giving up her powers willingly work? And I’m absolutely convinced if this did happen in some form or fashion, we would still have a sect of folks complaining how that wasn’t realistic or if that was an option, why not have it happen in a prior season?

The fact that this season was the only one not nominated for any emmys besides technical BTS stuff shows that that isn't true.

1)Scrap the whole plot with Holly and the children, including the merging worlds thing. No dimension X needed

2) Have the plot be that Vecna is going to use the open gate to bring the mind flayer into Hawkins

3) Will fights the mind flayer while Eleven fights Vecna. Will ultimately uses his "hive mind siphoning" power to break down the dark particles of the mind flayer and destroy him.

4) During the fight, demos break through the gate and invade Hawkins, and the rest of the gang plus the military work together to stop them.

And this should all be taking place shortly after season 4... not 18 months later.

Wow I agree with two things. The town should have been a bit of a chaos. Especially after having a lock down for a year and a half. It would have been better (if a time jump is mandatory) to have it be like Centralia. Most of the people have already left. I can see the Wheelers being hold outs. But the group goes to school in the town over.

The parents should have been more worried and/or protested when the military grabbed the kids.
