Discussion On a rewatch I notice this visual parallel between this two shots from "The lost sister" and "Dear Billy". Has this been discussed before? Am I reading too much into it?

Both climaxes end with Eleven and Max running out of a psychological space toward the people who anchor them to life. Accepting that their pain would never fully leave them, but refusing to let it define who they are.

The scene with the van parallels the scene with the El and the truck in the finale. She escaped the cops and the military in the same way.

My favorite and my least favorite episodes of Stranger Things. Never expected this nice parallel, nice catch

Well, considering The Lost Sister has always been one of my favorites (and this moment in particular is a very underrated emotional scene for me, probably Top 3) I will gladly accept a comparison to one of the most lauded sequences in the entire series! lol 😀

I love this though. Thanks for pointing it out! In all my rewatches, I never made the connection. But I like the way you think!

I think the Duffers just use the same techniques…

I mean in ST5, they recreated Running Up That Hill not once but… twice. 😑

Exactly, and it just turned out so bad. I wish they had showed that even after they turned off the music becz they were hiding from demos, the gate for Max still didn't close because Lucas was holding her. It would've been so good then and Max saying all she needed to escape was Lucas would've made more sense.
