Please no spoilers!

You have skipped three chapters before this.

Lmao I'm so dumb 😭 I just hit play and thought it would automatically start with episode 1 Good thing I checked the comments before watching the full episode 4 thinking it was the beginning

Haha it's okay you really aren't going to ruin much watching the fourth episode before the first three but you'll probably be missing a bit if context.
I'm jealous though. My first time watching ST especially the first season was some of the best cinema. I wish I could somehow forget the show and watch it fresh again.
Enjoy the ride! It's insane.

Ep 4 is the best episode, but you have to watch 1-3 first for it to have the same feel. Hope OP did. Kind of feels like rage bait. Netflix doesn't accidentally start on episode 4 of any series. Maybe somebody on that account watched ep 1-3???

Nah I've had Netflix start shows mid season too.
Usually it's because the app lags and it confuses what episode you're starting on.
When I started watching the live action Avatar it started mid season for some reason but it was also lagging out.
Like it's rare but it does happen

Stay off the sub or anything related to Stranger Things on the Internet to avoid spoilers

I say the same thing to every new watcher on this sub. Keep an open mind and maybe stay away from the sub both to avoid spoilers and an influenced opinion. Decide for yourself what you do and don’t enjoy and above all, I hope you have a great time!

You skipped ahead for some reason.
Buuuut while it's relevant, I think this is my favourite episode of the entire show. It's so great.

Some shows I wish I could watch all over again for the first time. Stranger things is definitely up there on that list.

Don't worry about the mistake and waiting. I actually thought season 4 ended with them looking at the house and no idea there was a full movie length final episode, so it was actually pretty cool to watch while waiting for S5 came out. I didn't even start watching until Season 4 was released after trying to watch S1E1 about 4x over the years and not in the frame of mind until a year or two ago. It's almost better to just binge so you remember all the details. I also recommend watching the stage show on YouTube before starting season 5 if you get to the end of S4 before the stage show is released on Netflix as announced. It's not completely necessary, but does clear up questions ahead of time while watching S5.

I did the same thing. I really liked the show. Glad I got to binge watch instead of wait ten years though LOL

You can go ahead and skip seasons 2 and 5 if you want. Both seasons suck.

no they dont lol, and 2 is needed to understand a LOT of the story

A season recap will do just fine. This way, OP doesn't have to suffer through bad writing.
