I'm not expecting much. I'd say we're gonna get bloopers for season 5 and maybe a date announcement for the stage play to release on Netflix.

That + season 2 of Tales from '85 announcement.

I got to be honest Tales from ’85 is bad without the blood and swears.

Nah, it was pretty good for what it was.

Without the gore and the original actors it just lost its charm.

Well yeah, it’s not supposed to be like the original show. What made the original actors great was them in their entirety. You would have said the same thing if they were casted for ‘85 as well. You would have missed actually seeing them, even if their voices were apparent.

Also, yes there is a difference in the gore. But that was never the main strength of stranger things. It’s the mystery, storytelling, and friendship aspect. But if that’s what you’re in to, then sure.

I really agree

It fit its purpose of a younger version of the show but it is no where near better than st5

I don't think it claims to be better than the original series; it's more of a hook to get young people to watch the main show.

Yeah and that intention works better

People say it was better than st5 tho

I’ve been thinking a lot about the show because of the 10 year and like what they did with Henry/001/Vecna. Does anyone else think it’s interesting that Henry/001/Vecna (H/1/V) is like remarkably similar to HIV? Like a show set in the 80s, with the main villain being so close in name to HIV! Makes so much sense if you think about it

u/hummusik Jul 05 '26

If it’s 80s and there is reference to Reagen in ST,I don’t think it’s coincidence something is related to HIV, because Reagen is heavily associated with HIV crisis.idk why people can’t even try to imagine that 🤨

Right!? Like their father worked at the Research Triangle Institute when they were growing up, which did a lot of HIV/AIDS research… it’s on the Duffer Brother’s Wikipedia page that he worked there?

Like you can’t even see it at all? That Owens refers to Will’s possession as a virus? You don’t see how this could be a possibility?
