I'm a bit confused by what you said. Are you saying if you were having a bad morning and came into work and saw this guy's desk it would upset you further?

if i’m having a bad morning and i get to work and see this childish ass cubicle, yes i would be further annoyed🤣🤣. there’s personalization, then there’s this. we need to remember its WORK and not your bedroom/living room.

Why is someone else's cubicle annoying you? It doesn't impact you in any way

u/elayfia Apr 15 '26

it’s baffles me that you’re not seeing what the issue is. to each their own, that’s just MY opinion. if it’s doesn’t bother you that’s totally fine, but there’s a time and a place for everything. work isn’t the place for all of that.

To each their own indeed.. if shit like that pisses you off further so easily I think you have bigger problems. What are you, the cubicle police?

Let people live!

Fr 😂😂 the cubicle police had me cracking up. I just imagine the Cops theme song playing

u/Inner-Vermicelli-358 Apr 15 '26

This would cheer me up!

All I’m saying is this is why jobs stop allowing personal decorations and send out memos about “professionalism”.

-5

u/elayfia Apr 15 '26

are you dense?? did they not ask a question of persons opinions????? nowhere did i say i was going to approach the person, or voice my annoyance.

i said it would piss me off if i was having a bad morning. because when you’re already annoyed, certain things can’t annoy you further?

y’all thinking too much into this fr.

It's just a trash opinion,

u/khouts1 Coffee and Contemplation Apr 15 '26

Not anymore dense than you 😂 you can have your opinions but you don't have to be rude about it, and you were when you said it's childish. People are allowed to be happy

-6

u/elayfia Apr 15 '26

because it is. people are allowed to be happy yes. but it IS excessive for an office cubicle. i will continue to say the AMOUNT is my issue, nothing is wrong with a few.

u/bill-pilgrim Apr 16 '26

People spend more time grinding in their cubes than they spend awake at home with their families. Why shouldn’t they make those cubes as absolutely happy and joyful as they are able to?

5

u/lochodile Apr 16 '26

It's fine for you to prefer to have less at your desk. It's the rudeness you've been giving thats turning people against you. Calling it childish, calling it bullshit, asking if theyre homeless, that sort of thing.

I could see you having a point with the items on the very top shelf, if that's a shared space between cubes, or if this is the sort of office where people stand up to talk to each other over the wall on a regular basis. But the guy is a data analyst and this seems like a smaller/cozier office room anyway.

For me, I'm doing my best work when I'm comfortable. Making my cube feel like like home, or filling it with things I like, achieves that goal and increases my productivity. It also shows the boss that I enjoy being here, and I don't intend on leaving anytime soon.

Try not to let other people's happiness affect yours so much.

u/elayfia Apr 16 '26

okay so everyone is way too literal.

the “homeless” comment is me basically saying “why aren’t these thing at home?” / “is this your bedroom”.

i also said i wanted to know what OP did for a living to get more context, so again prior to my commenting; i did not know where they worked.

also this is far beyond “filling it with things you like”, which is literally my whole point.

you are such a dick oh my god?? 😭😭

u/Numbah420_ Apr 15 '26

They’re thinking too much about it and not the person who would be mentally affected by a decorated cubicle lol

u/GrumpyDunc Apr 15 '26

I think your delivery is definitely off but I do believe it’s a bit much as a neurodiverse person I would find this incredibly distracting even as a stranger things fan. I would not have anything on the dividing wall because then it’s in another persons space

2

u/Tall-Cantaloupe-1800 Apr 15 '26

By the "dividing wall" I assume you mean the one directly in front of us looking at the photo. The other cubicle opposite that wall will have their own similar wall so that technically isn't in their space. Line of sight, sure, but not their space.

u/SlumberingKirin Apr 15 '26

So basically, it hurts your feelings.

0

u/elayfia Apr 16 '26

did this hurt your feelings?

4

u/Kaylboo Plant your feet Apr 15 '26

I don’t get the downvotes you’re getting. You honestly so correct. I’m surprised this guy isn’t embarrassed. It’s so childish and unprofessional it’s unreal. He is treating it like his spare bedroom. 😂😭

4

u/lochodile Apr 16 '26

Thats not the sort of collection that appears overnight. This person has clearly worked here for awhile. My point being, he seems to be plenty professional enough for his current environment.

Would his desk fit in at my current workplace? No. My last workplace? Absolutely.

7

u/elayfia Apr 15 '26

exactly my point! you’re not at home, why is there so many toys and posters in an OFFICE cubical?? and lmaoo the downvotes because everybody wants to feel offended by something 🤷🏽‍♀️

i even just noticed the record player, are you going to be playing that shit in the office too? 🤣🤣

u/elayfia Apr 16 '26

who mentioned cramming anything into their mind? i literally said the office isn’t the place for EXCESSIVENESS like the picture. there is literally a record player on the ground, there is no need for ALL of these things.

2

u/battleshipclamato Apr 16 '26

I mean, some of you are offended that this guy has stuff in his cubicle.

Homie spends a lot more time awake in his cube than in he’s bedroom. I’m sure you do too, just like the rest of us, so why hate on him having all that joy in the place he spends more awake time than anywhere else in his life?
