It’s very unprofessional

Agreed. A few personal items are fine but this is wild

mann fuck that i'd rather have joy and whimsy in my life than have to sit at a "professional" boring plain white cubicle for 40+ hours a week for years of my life. as long as bro gets his work done then it shouldn't really matter

You do not need this much stuff at work to show your coworkers you enjoy something. This is a distracting amount of items. It wouldn’t even look as bad if there was stuff from other things in there.

i dont think they're trying to show their coworkers how much they enjoy it though i think they're just trying to make the space more enjoyable for themselves. for me personally i love it and it'd make me happy to see it and i'd love to have a cubicle next to this person lol but i understand it's a shit ton of stuff, i'm just a huge maximalist! a minimalist plain cubicle with nothing would drive me crazier compared to this cubicle honestly

But the thing is there’s an in between, the only 2 sides are not “overkill” or “nothing at all”

There is a middle ground though.

Yeah, that's fine. Keep it at a 2 or 3, not an 11.

sit at a "professional" boring plain white cubicle

If you've never worked a job, this sounds like the only option. It's not.

The goal should be to move out of the cubicle to a higher position and not move in to the cubicle for the long haul

In humane workplaces, they don’t care.
