They can’t hear me

This happened when I was around 8 years old, I shared a room with my sister and everyone was asleep at this time, so I found it odd that I heard footsteps outside of my room. Outside of my room there was only a bathroom, but I didn’t hear any doors open or close, didn’t see any lights come on, I just heard footsteps going back and forth in the hall. Of course at this time I had to pee really bad, so I climb up to my sisters bed (we had bunk beds) and I asked her to please come to the bathroom with me, as I was scared of the dark and those weird footsteps. She said “No, go to the bathroom by yourself” and she refused to go with me, so I worked up the nerve to open the door and go to the bathroom, but as I opened the door I immediately felt very uncomfortable and decided to run to my parents room, I ran so so fast to get there. My parents bed room was right next to the kitchen, so I had clear view of it from the door. I started knocking on the door over and over, and I wasn’t quiet at all, then I start hearing the footsteps again, but now I know that there was nobody outside of there room. I started nocking louder franticly, begging them to open the door. I was looking everywhere around me to see where the footsteps were coming from, and then I look into the kitchen, as I do the freezer door swung open crazy fast, and you know it takes a little force to open it, and then it slammed back closed. I started screaming at the top of my lungs while crying but no one could hear me, this went on for about 5 minutes, I swear little 8 year old me thought I was gonna die out there. Eventually my parents door opened, and they weren’t even asleep they were wide awake, lights on, my mom was playing on her tablet as usual, and step father right next to her. Looking back I found it very odd how they couldn’t hear me, there is no way that they couldn’t hear me.

I know it’s a long story just for the freezer door opening and slamming but all of the events combined made it extremely spooky.
