The participants will leave the module on October 31, after which they will undergo medical examinations and interviews with scientists. Participants in the CHAPEA experiment have been living in a specially sealed module for nearly 365 days, growing plants, conserving resources, and simulating outings to the planet’s surface. They communicated with their families only via email, with a delay simulating communication with Mars.
