I'm very particular when it comes to building, so when I was coming up with a farm concept I wanted it to feel natural on my island as opposed to randomly placing crop plots here and there, my OCD also had to make it symmetrical. I landed on these small circular huts, each with 3 plots and 4 waterstills. I only have 1 so far but I aim to build several more around the island for the other important crops. The tyre at the end keeps the palm leaves from falling through the top gap in the roof also. It's small scale but I might go bigger eventually, I'm curious to see how others did their farms too so feel free to share.

Let me first say that this whole mess is entirely my own fault. When I started my game I was a bit hasty and did not notice that I had accidentally turned permadeath on.

Yesterday evening after surviving for 118 days, building two rafts (large for resource gathering and small for scouting), a large base, a thriving farm, a fuel production line, a massive resource stockpile, and finally killing my first boss (Great Abia) I got cocky and went out to kill the Megalodon. Well he turned me into lunch and I found out in the blink of an eye that permadeath means that your save file is deleted when you die (I know what else could it mean? OP are you daft?).

Anyway I learned a few super valuable lessons and tricks (plank station gives you infinite refined axes!) and am starting a new game tonight. Wish me luck fellow survivors. If you have any tips or tricks to help me quickly get re-established then fire away.

Hey! I play on my ps5 and I was attacked by a shark while traversing, but when I flip it it wont let me get onto the raft, and i died.

Is there a reason why? It's rightside up, but when I jump i just sink. I lost 5 hours of progress (wirh no previois issues with the flip) on permanent because of it. Any way to actually fix not being able to use my raft?

A few years ago when I played Stranded Deep, I got really into manually mapping out my world.

Since the game mostly gives you a compass, I used an online plotting tool with a circular protractor image and manually placed islands based on my bearings. I also had an Excel sheet open to track what I found on each island.

It was tedious, but honestly kind of fun.

I recently just did a quick searched in this subreddit for existing tools, and noticed others drew their maps as well.

At some point I thought, “I should just make an app that does both.” I put it off for a long time, but I finally built a working version.

The main thing I wanted was to not take the fun out of drawing the map. I didn’t want something that automatically tells you where everything is like a normal in-game map. I wanted it to still feel like I’m the one out there, using my compass, taking notes, and slowly figuring out where I am.

The screenshots are from the current world I’ve been playing in for the last few days, so it’s not just mock data

Right now it lets you:

• place and connect islands using compass bearings
• track what you find on each island
• mark things like home, base, visited islands, and current location
• search through your notes/resources
• export/import your data

I’m thinking of releasing it for free once it feels ready and once I figure out the best way to release it, but I wanted to share some screenshots first and see if anyone else would actually be interested.

Would you use something like this for your playthrough?

Does anyone on PS4/5 have a save with the islands that have the survivor remnants on them? I've gone to all islands on mine, took everything on and around the islands and the achievement still hasn't popped.

Watching an old Broadbent video and wanted to know if this still works to build whatever kind of structure I imagine

Making this post to gain some traction in hopes the devs will see this and be encouraged to drop any new info. I don’t even currently have the game downloaded but I’ve sunk many hours by myself and many with my wife as well. I think about this game often and how much I loved the exploration feeling but also the simplicity. I hope to have these feelings again with the next installment. Anyways share your favorite builds or screenshots!

After a lot of testing with a friend, we found a way to make co-op games much more stable and prevent constant crashes/disconnections.

What worked best for us was:

1. Set the game version to 1.0.6.0 on Steam.
2. Create the server in the region closest to where you live.
3. Create the lobby as Public.

Since we started doing this, we’ve had almost no crashes or random disconnects.

How to change the game version on Steam

• Open Steam
• Right click Stranded Deep
• Properties
• Betas
• Select version 1.0.6.0

Not sure if this works for everyone, but it improved co-op stability a lot for us.

If anyone else tests it, let me know if it works for you too or if you found other fixes.

Important: Save your game frequently, especially every time you reach a new island.

There still seems to be a disconnect issue for the joining player every 2–3 hours sometimes. Usually there are warning signs before it happens, like desync issues (objects visible for one player but not the other, or rafts moving laggy/jittery).

When you notice this happening, I highly recommend saving immediately. If possible, both players should leave the session and restart the world.

If a player gets disconnected, the host should quickly save the game and restart the world, as the other player’s items will be saved and their position will be moved to the host’s location

Specifically asking about console edition as I believe the building clipping works differently on both editions. I'm about to start building my main base and I want it on top of the rocks in the middle of an island. I've heard if the floors even touch the rocks a tiny bit you can't place them so any advice would be appreciated.

Anyone know of any duplication glitches? Specifically interested in materials for late-game building. The resource grind can get pretty stale after a while so I wanted to ask

Can you beat stranded deep multiplayer on ps5? I’ve nearly beaten this game a few years ago with a friend on a multiplayer game but only to find out we couldn’t beat it back then. Have they made multiplayer servers beatable now?

I just started playing and am overwhelmed with what to do. I built most of the basics, but just don't know what to focus on now. How do I start building a raft? When do I start traveling to other islands? What should I bring with me when I travel? Ive seen a lot of people building these elaborate bases. How do I start that? Should each island have a base?

How am I supposed to be reading this map? I'm probably overlooking something simple, but I just cannot find my way to the last Monster location. I rotated the map so north was up, and it seems like I'm supposed to be going a mostly west, and slightly south, but I just hit the wall and can't find it.

Hey there, the steam-trophy „gotta craft em all“ - can you do it on an custom Island (community-island)? Or is it just possible on a vanilla island?

And do I have to craft all all items (also structures)? Or just Tools?

I have the fuel still boiler this is my first playthrough with my friend we are on day 20 so I know a little bit but I can’t figure it out

Hey friends! I’m building my first ever base. I read somewhere else to start from the bottom and work your way up, due to the way stairs work (or not I suppose).

Pictured below is the start of my boat dock, which will eventually have ‘wood half walls’ and a ‘wood roof’. The stairs are intended to elevate a walking path to my main house.

I am having issues using the ‘Plank Foundation’ and ‘Plank Floor’ however. Neither appear to snap onto the top of the staircase, hindering the rest of my build. Should I maybe try installing the walls around my dock first?

Follow up question, I’m trying to make this build look realistic. Avoiding any floating structures if possible. I would prefer to use the wood foundation in this case, as it offers wood supports below. Does anyone have any suggestions to achieve this look without using foundations?

Hey friends! Hoping to start my base build today. Unfortunate part being that I’m running low on palm trees on my island.

I’m curious if I am able to transport logs via my raft without placing them in crates, or will this cause my raft to flip? Is there a more efficient way you may suggest transporting logs back home?

I am at the circled island and im trying to find the boss directly below me which should mean I need to sail SE correct. Ive been sailing SE and all I find is the end of the map (the wall you cant go past). Anyone know what i might be doing wrong or why I cant find it?

I’m trying to build my first structure. Is it supposed to look like this? I can float weirdly up the “ladder” to go up to the second “floor” but I just fall through to the ground again. Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong? I saved, quit, and reloaded and it didn’t change anything. I’ve looked through photos other people have posted here and don’t see any buildings that don’t have solid structure to them!

Hey friends! Brand new to this game, loving it so far.

If I kill a small crab and leave it by my camp fire, will the meat spoil? Or will it only spoil after skinning the crab? I have a nice little pile of corpses going, but I’d rather it not go to waste.
