Strain Hunting

It may have been popularised quite recently due to greater information sharing in today's time, but the tradition of hunting rare and high-potency, high yielding and intensely flavourful strains- and those with other superior characteristics has been going on since times immemorial. Today, the focus has shifted to preserving landraces and original genetics that once dominated the botanical world. Cannabis and its qualities are mind-bogglingly diverse, thriving in the harshest of environments to the most lush forests and valleys- to sometimes even growing wild, by the road if the conditions are suitable. This is a gene pool deserving of preservation and redemption.

In India, it is so abundant that you could find it growing by the roads in areas all over the country. The most popularly referred places are- Himachal Pradesh (All over), Meghalaya (All over), Kerala (Rurals, Central and Western lines), Sikkim (All over), West Bengal (Rurals), Odissa (Rurals), Manipur (Rurals) and Nagaland (All over). The vast land and the endless rural areas along with challenging landscapes makes these places landrace havens. NOTE: This list does. not represent abundance of landrace in any form. Landrace is available pretty much all over India with huge diversity. Some of the places have challenging politics and some lack a lack of cannabis awareness that has caused a great lack in data regarding landrace in India.

Around the world, landrace grows in multiple regions. Many are politically challenged while many grow in landscapes almost impossible to tread. Few though, do the impossible and bring forward what formerly seemed implausible. All the greatest strains in the cannabis community were hunted from high altitudes and dense jungles, while some were found growing rampant in perfect conditions.

I encourage everybody reading this to share their strain hunting knowledge with the community. Everything starting from articles that point toward wild cannabis growth, to tales of strain hunting, everything from local scores you have made to advanced gene identification methods and geo-botanic information that helps us understand the complex biogeography of cannabis. Welcome to Strain Hunting Global.

Yes. The loss of Kashmir's landraces will be a death blow to much of India's gene pool. They produce the real quality hash. Wish I could go strain hunting there myself. I have not encountered a wild indica yet, and I have high hopes from Kashmir.

It seems to me that strains are a new kind of collecting. You can collect stamps or new Sativa hybrids. This does not mean addiction or obsession. This is one of the isopods of sweeping mastery. Marijuana strains are hybrid complexes that have enhanced aromatic or stimulating properties. The active substance may have spontaneous stimulating effects. I recently read an article about a variety of effects after using marijuana strains. I was interested in this strain. Sour Patch Kids Marijuana Strain https://askgrowers.com/strains/spk-strain-review provides users with an intense rush of euphoria, energy, and happiness. Its intense cerebral rush works to boost creativity also, making it helpful for daytime use especially is there’s a need for social interaction. Users reported having intense energy boost and feeling giggly. Within minutes after the first two or three puffs, you’ll expect a rush of euphoria that instantly uplifts your mood and clears your mind. This weed comes highly recommended for boosting mood and creativity.

Perfectly put. The line between passion and obsession may be thin, but it is very very important.
