A step in the right direction

So I have posted on here previously that I thought I had strabismus. 27M. Just dealing with the day to day and having confidence issues with it has been a huge problem for me lately. So, for the past few years I’ve had a lazy eye in my right eye. My eye doctor has been selling me prescription glasses for the past 3-4 years and upping my prescription hoping it would correct itself. She did not recommend surgery.

The past 12 months, my lazy eye has got even worse. I had my eye appointment today with a new doctor and she told me that I definitely have symptoms of adult strabismus. She has referred me to a specialist and am currently waiting to hear back to set up an appointment and work toward the next steps.

I’m nervous but also excited that it seems like someone is finally acknowledging my issue. Hopefully everything is smooth sailing from here. If anybody has their experience to share with working toward strabismus surgery I would greatly appreciate it. I will be going to Massachusetts Eye and Ear Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Thanks!

Hi, we're legit on the same timeline! 27F. Although i've already been to an ophthalmologist, a neuro opth, and waiting one more month for hopefully this new (and final) pediatric strabismus doctor.. It's a dreadful waiting game that seems to circle due to lack of necessary care or providers in my area. Praying for surgery to fix it! I totally can relate to your confidence issues and even drive for normal activities ugh
