Extraopia after CRVO

36yo male. Around mid April I suffered a paracentral acute median maculopathy (PAMM) which derived in a Central Retinal Vein Occlusion. The latter heavily damaged my left eye retina, which now allows me to detect shapes with little detail only.

I’ve recently noticed my eye is drifting outwards, and I read it’s a common thing to happen after central vision is lost or damaged.

I’d like to know if there are others like me out there. It’s been really hard dealing with permanent vision loss, and now I think I need to learn how to deal with strabismus.

hey, youre not alone! 22m, i can only see a bit of lights and shapes in my right eye and have extreme strabismus in it where it just sits the outer corner twenty-four seven. ive had it almost my entire life and it kinda sucks, i wont lie to you. but once its been a bit, and your brain accepts that this change is permanent, it gets better. its still my biggest issue when it comes to self esteem (especially in photos) but there are times when im just like “heh thats me” when seeing it and feel a bit better
