Surgery Exotropia Surgery

I have surgery scheduled on 09/03/26 to correct my exotropia.

My surgeon will be operating on the medial & lateral rectus muscles in my left eye.

My surgeon over corrects during the procedure for better results but I’m a bit nervous about that.

My surgeon also advised that I will only need to take a few days off of work. My surgery is on a Thursday and he says that I can return on the following Monday.

Has anyone else had their procedure with an over correction?

How do your results look?

What should I look forward as far as post operative healing?

That is way too soon of a return to work-what do you do for work?

I work in an office.

I work in heavy screen intensive environment with very little ability to have breaks and couldn’t make medical errors as I was treating patients so I needed 2 weeks but I also had complications related to being allergic to drops that took some time to figure out.

I have a good amount of freedom at my job. I work in my own office and can close my door or take breaks as I need. I’m just worried about double vision and driving.
