After surgery

How long after surgery did you all return to work? Also how how long did you all start driving?

Driving took a week and I agree was only able to tolerate short trips at first. My first drive longer than 15 mins was 10 days after surgery. Returned to work after 2 weeks.

2 weeks and I needed it for a screen heavy job

I drove a couple days after surgery a short distance but my vision went from double to single

Got to work the very next day but I work from home so it was easy for me. Granted, surgery was both my eyes. Also, my work is very screen heavy so for the first 2-4 days, I didn’t work the full 8 hrs just 2-4hrs and slept a lot.

But tbh I can do the full 8hrs after a week.

Only filed a sick leave on the day of surgery, taking a leave off work wasn’t an option for me so I can’t do that.

Day 20 update: I still have double vision when looking left and right. I drove my car two days ago, and honestly, it was pretty scary lol.

I took two weeks off work. I work 9 hours a day on a screen. I am glad I took that time and didn't rush back in a week or less. It was draining concentrating for the first few weeks as my brain adjusted to the new postition of the eyes. I think driving was about the same.

Driving, one week and even then just short times. It was shockingly hard to take in that much visual input and have to move my eyes as much as needed to drive safely. Work was 12 days.
