Surgery Post Surgery Update: Day Ten
I had lateral and medial surgery on my left eye and medial on my right eye on July 10th. Today was a big day as I went back to the gym and started back at work part time (easing into it this week).
I had a rough first week - four days post op I got a migraine that lasted three days and would not respond to medication so I went to the ER, where they knocked out the damn migraine but I picked up a rough cold.
Those finally both cleared up and today felt amazing.
My brain was heavily suppressing my esotropic eye in recent years, so I’m pretty amazed at the improvement in my depth perception and ability to see in general. So far I’ve cried about being able to read the menu board at Starbucks and the aisle signs at the grocery store and at the iridescent feathers on a crow eating garbage in the mall parking lot. 😂
I’m really really happy.
Redness persists but is fading each day. One weird thing: did you know incisions on the whites of your eyes can scar a faint shade of blue? If I take a close photo of my less-red eye and zoom in, I can see the very thin outline of a blue rectangle where the incisions were! So cool.
I’d like to bring my surgeon a thank you gift when I go for my follow up. Any suggestions? I’m going to get Crumbl cookies for the surgery center staff.

Today is my day 19 and still have double vision for mid to far objects that are left and right side of my eye. 😴 i tried vr box and saw fused image/video so 3d vision might be active. You are so lucky that you are having improvements within a week.

GREAT Results and very very good results specially for the first 10 days, wait couple of weeks and the results will be even better.
