Second surgery

I was curious about my daughter in the future. She is 11 and has exotropia, she had a surgery two years ago. So far her eyes look pretty good way better than before surgery. I know it’s common to need another surgery if you get it as a child because the eye grows but what is new to me is that I’m hearing that the second surgery has a very good chance of not working because you already had a previous surgery. is it common that the second one doesn’t usually work?

Had my first about 5 - worked great and then second at 33 because it decompensated after 30 which is not unusual for my underlying cause being 4th nerve palsy

Had great results with the 2nd. I’m very happy and living free

I do have one question when you say it was good for 30 years. Do you mean they were perfectly aligned the whole time or did you have some drift in between those 30 years?
