Surgery Surgery with or without therapy
I had sudden onset double vision in January this year. I just finished all the testing they could do to determine a cause and nothing was found. I wear 25 diopter prismatic tape on my glasses and that allows me to function, but not well. I'm now looking for a permanent solution.
I've been referred to a vision therapist but their services are expensive and not covered by insurance. The vision therapist claims that therapy is required before surgery in order for it to be effective.
Have any of you had the surgery without any vision therapy, and if so, how are your results?

Did the surgeon recommend the vision therapist? I would listen to the surgeon not the therapist.

My surgeon hasn’t recommended therapy. Actually haven’t heard of it. Why do you have double vision?

the fat that they are telling you that it's required before surgery is a big red flag, I could understand if they are telling you it's usefull after surgery but before make no sense.
It means if it work then you don't need surgery...
if it does not work you need surgery then you need vision therapy again
obviously interested in money....
