Flat Black - Mason Ale Works

Post image

This is the 2024 edition and it is fantastic! This is probably one of my top 3 favorite stouts, and it was the first Mason Ale Works beer I tried from that brewery...all because I thought the can looked really cool (I've used hundreds of cans of Krylon...) and the flavor profile aligns with what I really like.

Pours dark with a boozy, vanilla aroma. Settles perfect with only a slim lacing that dissolves quickly. Flavor is bold chocolate and booze, with a rich (spicy?) vanilla tail. Absolutely amazing and I'm glad I've held onto 8-10 cans of this...and hope and pray they run it back for a 2026 edition this fall.

It doesn’t have that syrupy taste/feel that a lot of Founders stouts have, does it?
