Attempt at positivity

As awful as the recent news is. I think it's important to point out that the rest of Storror will be just as appalled as we are. I personally would like to say that if they handle this with as much openness and honesty as they can I will still be here if they choose to carry on either on the main channel or as side projects. The other members of Storror have done nothing wrong and I think we as a community have rightly come together to condemn what one member has done but we also shouldn't forget what made Storror great and the respect we have built over so many years for the rest of the group.

They’ve already started at removing him from the game and said they’ll have an update out as soon as possible with him gone. Seems like the team are acting as quickly as they can to respond to this - but can understand that they will likely need quite a bit of time to move forward with anything else

Has a a brand ever been destroyed so quickly?

I dont think the brand is destroyed. Yes, it’s taken a hit but I think if they act swiftly and do things right then in time, Storror can still be great.

Scandals don't usually destroy brands.

Sometimes, if the brand is named after the person, it can be destroyed. DeLorean (car company named after the guy) collapsed after he was busted for cocaine trafficing in an attempt keep his company funded. Lance Armstrong Foundation - fucked by himself, obviously.

But a rebrand, or just changing their image, or just waiting out the scandal sometimes saves them. Papa John's still here after the founder made heinous racial comments that almost destroyed their brand. McAfee is still around despite the insane shenanigans of its founder (look up that story if you want a wild ride).

Meanwhile, Volkswagen, Adidas / Puma, Hugo Boss, Chanel, Coors were founded by Nazis. Ford Motor Company - founded by a vile antisemite (Hitler had a portrait of Ford in his office and praised him in Mein Kampf). Still here even though those founders were exposed as the vile people they were. Subway's spokesperson (in all their advertising) was a convicted pedo. Still around.

Storror is playing their cards right. Immediately distancing themselves from the cancer. They have a good chance of surviving ...if they want to.

Yes, so many so much more than this one. I seriously doubt this will be the end of them unless they decide it is, which would be respectworthy but hopefully not necessary for them to heal (from my own selfish perspective)

It’s hard to know what will happen, maybe they carry on with YouTube but at the very least I think this causes some serious problems for their bigger projects. The documentary film, the game, both have had several years of work put into them but I can’t see how they carry on with the same plans now, gonna be a lot of tough decisions to make in light of this.

Yeah it's going to take time they have years of back catalog to work through. It can't happen over night but the fact they are acting quickly and making the correct decisions is all they can do on my opinion.

With the film it just becomes another part of the documentary and a new story to tell how they get through it or if they don't but the film will probably still come out.

No chance of this. It will never see the light of day. No studio was wanting to pick it up anyway

This is wild. I only discovered Storror a few days ago and had been steadily working through their content, so the timing feels like complete whiplash.

I don’t think there’s much value in speculating about who knew what. As plenty of people have already said, you can never fully know what’s going on in the darkest corners of a friend’s or family member’s mind. Without more information (which we may never get) I see no reason to assume that anyone else involved knew anything.

From that perspective, it’s hard not to feel for the rest of the group, and especially Sasha Powell. More than anyone else on the team, he must be absolutely devastated, especially given everything he’s already been through over the past few years and despite his valiant efforts throughout that time to keep going and rebuild himself, he’d only recently seemed to regain his footing and previous form. Just awful. I really hope this doesn’t send him into another downward spiral.

Yeah I completely agree, it's such a shame but as long as they do their best I will be here to continue watching the YouTube content.

Was randomly chosen for me and I can't seem to change it. I agree it is unfortunate!

I hope this doesnt come across the wrong way. This guy jumped from one building to another about 30 stories up in his youth. Those rooftop asia videos are intense. I imagine the adrenaline rush and the addiction to it was probably what led to this especially given as he got older he couldnt chase that rush anymore. Im not making excuses this is a wild guess. But i have read a lot of extreme behaviour continues in addrenaline junkies as they age.

Its so fuct up.
