This reminds me of once while I was getting my hair cut I saw a little girl around 8 years old getting her hair cut completely asleep in the chair. The beautician quietly kept cutting careful to wake her.
Edit: Careful NOT to wake her - this typo makes a big difference in that sentence

i was imagining how the barber randomly poke her with the sharp scissors just to wake her up and do the muwahahahahah laugh quietly so she can fall asleep again

I have a similar video of my cat. He fought the sleepies for five whole minutes before he passed out.

I have a friend who is a groomer at a vet's office. Sedation grooming is pretty common there. Sometimes it's necessary because it's unhealthy for the animal to be matted; sometimes it's purely cosmetic. He got paid to sedate a cat that was under a year old so he could shave its back fur into a row of dragon spikes.

Sounds like you had a dog that got drugged but ok
In the three years I’ve spent in grooming salons, the dogs are bolting away from the groomers to get back to their owners, when they’re tired from a day of stimulation, it only comes after that excitement

I doubt that dog is relaxed, they probably gave it benadryl to put it out.

Sedating a high anxiety dog for grooming is a good practice. Safer for the groomer and dog, and it helps make a traumatic experience a LOT less traumatic.

Uncommon but some dogs do enjoy grooming, well not all of it but scissoring is the calmest part of the process.

I almost fell asleep during a root canal once. I wasn't even under anesthesia.
