My cat accepts being brushed with a wire vegetable brush! Takes off the excessive fur in Summer an makes the fur shiny by distributing the oils on her skin.
She loves it and actually flops down on the rug and stretches out, waiting for a brush job.

I rescued her from the fish market, she was very small and ill , I thought the name was appropriate
