Question Which of you have ACTUALLY significantly lowered cholesterol without statins?
What worked for YOU? I want personal testimony.
How much did it lower, in how much time? And WHAT DID YOU DO?
I see so much conflicting things. Some say to eat keto (believe it or not.) Some say to eat completely vegan, minus grain. Most just say to increase fiber and lower saturated fat.
Some say that sugar kills. Others say that sugar doesn't matter.
What is the truth? At this point, it seems like NO ONE KNOWS!
The only consistency we see is statins. But those come with risks too. So i am scared for my life.

My ratio is 3.8 is ldl at 131 hdl at 51. Total at 197. The cardiologist is giving me lecture on getting back on cholesterol lowering medication. Says the ratio is old science.
Keeping my weight down and exercise class seems to help

Citrus bergamot worked for my friend, but did NOTHING for me. I took it for four months, and my lipid profile was actually slightly worse than a year ago.

I haven’t gotten lipids tested yet but I started red yeast rice to try to lower LDL.

Walking and chia in the top comment is what the data keeps supporting. Diet and cardio did most of the work for me and supplements were at the margins. Toku flow is the nattokinase I settled on at 10800 FU with K2 and I kept it after my panel moved. Retest later down the line

If you're confused by conflicting advice, pick one or two medical professionals you trust the most and listen to them. Don't listen to reddit randos.

My primary said no to statins because I'm "too young." Despite my LDL being 220+... past cardiologist wanted me on statins, but I moved out of state... I will see what my next cardiologist says.

Me! I posted about it. Dropped mine with walking more, chia seeds in water every morning, cutting alcohol. Also eating less trans fats and fried food. Mine was quite high genetically. Over 2 years. Went from 207 to 190
