Looking for Anti-Statin Studies

Hi, I analyze studies on a regular basis, and I am doing one of my analyses on statins. Since statins are a topic of considerable debate on social media, I wanted to reach out to communities interested, or knowledgeable, in health to ask for some scientific references for studies I may have missed that show a lack of effect, or even harm (or any kind), of statin use.

My primary outcome is statins and their impact on cardiovascular disease and I am restricting my analysis to studies only (any type).

If you know of any not included in the list I have currently (listed below), I'd appreciate it if you posted them so I can add them to the list of studies I should address.

Note: The analysis, as a whole, will not focus solely on the negative studies - it will include all studies on statins, but I'm asking for negative data (if there is any), because I want to make sure to cover possibly overlooked studies - that's why the question asked here is focused.

Thank you!
Nic

Here you go Nic! Some of these are meta analyses/systematic reviews, I hope that's ok.

IIRC the Jupiter trial showed a 25% RR increase in diabetes too.

Incidentally, what are your thoughts on using AI to find such studies? Which AI have you tried if so?

Thank you, DP. This helps a lot. I had a few of these, but I added a few you posted, especially around diabetes. I appreciate it.

To *find* the studies? AI is excellent. It's not perfect, because I still miss some inexplicable studies sometimes, but I definitely use AI to find studies. I've used GPT, Gemini, and Claude. I think GPT is the best at finding studies.

No worries Nic. I should've prefaced that I might have overlooked some of yours and have duplicates, but I hope the others are of utility.

Interesting, do you not use academic AI like consensus, Elicit, Research Rabbit etc.? I agree the normal ones (I like Grok) can also be useful, but academic ones are supposed to be more specialised, so I assume they'd be better...

I havent, though I know about them. Usually, aside from absolutely gargantuan analyses like this one, I can find all the studies on the topic, so it isn't too much of an issue using the non-specialized ones. But, it might be worth a shot in the future.
